 Tibetans

The Tibetan Cat is a semi long haired tonkinese. It was first developed by Agnes Driessen of Anshira Waya from a Burmese to Balinese mating in 1992. It was recognized in the Netherlands in 1997.

At the present time the Tibetanis recognised in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and South Africa and we will be introducing the breed to the UK and eventually gaining recognition through GCCF.

The Tibetan character is the same as a Tonkinese and they appear in the same colours and coat patterns as the Tonkinese.

The difference is the beautiful bushy tail and the slightly longer coat which is silky and soft and has no undercoat which means that it does not tangle or shed very much.

Tibetan variants are Tonkinese with secrets!!!!, They carry the long hair gene but are exactly the same as a tonkinese in appearance and characteristic. The variants will be invaluable in the breeding program and we will be happy to talk to any breeder who wishes to help develop this breed, or indeed anyone who would like to add one of these loving cats to their family.

We would like to thank Patrizia Shiottzi from www.patriziaschiozzi.nl/cattery/, these are examples of her beautiful Tibetan cats and kittens
