18th April 2009.       Kali got a first place in her open and a 2nd and 3 x 3rd place in her side classes at the Bristol & District Show. Well  done Kali.

22nd April 2009.      Ripley had both lower eye lids operated on for entropian (4th time lucky) and Bishop has had all 4 eye lids operated on for the same thing. Both are recovering nicely.

25th April 2009.       My husband has finally started building the netted cage to go over the side garden of the house so that the cats have safe access outside. I can't wait for it to be finished. The cats are going to love it.

26th April 2009.       The last of Kaiya's babies left today. I miss them already.

4th May 2009.           The outside caged area for the cats is finished. Kaiya loves it out there, Kameko is not too sure but has a good sniff around and Kali is terrified and won't go much past the side door. I will post pictures soon. They are only allowed out under supervision at the moment until I am sure that they cannot escape.

6th June 2009.          Kali won a first place in her open class at the Somerset Show and a 2nd and 3rd in her side classes. Another good day.

7th June 2009.         Kali is on honeymoon with Grand Champion Roysterer Snowdragon from Sandtum, a lovely lilac siamese boy, we should have siamese and oriental kittens due around the middle of August.

9th June 2009.         Kameko is on honeymoon with Grand Champion Claerpenton Pimpernel, a lilac oriental with the most amazing emerald green eyes. Harry as he is called is 1 cc away from Imperial Grand Champion and is also from Sandtum Siamese, orientals and Bengals. So hopefully more kittens due in August.

26th July 2009.        Phoebe our burmese girl has been with us for a month now. Although we had some teething problems because she was so stressed when she arrived that she wouldn't eat and had to be syringe fed for a while and now she is extremely thin but slowly putting the weight back on.

26th July 2009.        Kameko and Kali are getting very big bellies. I felt the first movement in Kameko today (I get so excited when this happens). The kittening boxes will go up this week ready for them to get used to where they will give birth, one will be downstairs and one upstairs so that they do not get stressed out from having a birthing queen too close. Keep checking for birth announcements.

July 31st 2009.         Kameko definately has the bigger belly out of the two, but neither are extremely large although that could change this week. Hopefully we will have some lilacs in this litter as I have always wanted a blue or lilac point siamese, so fingers crossed. The kittening boxes are both in place, so first come first served as to who gets the bigger box in the living room or the smaller box in the bedroom.

August 5th 2009.     Finally I have posted more pics of Phoebe who is growing rapidly. My camera was not charging properly but it is fixed now. Just in time for the babies. Only 1 week to go. I have posted pictures of the 2 fathers on the queens page.

August 9th 2009.     3 days to go for the due date for Kali, I think Kameko will deliver hers first but you never know. Kali is sleeping alot and eating loads. Kameko is pacing and visiting the boxes so we shall see.

August 12th 2009.   Kali gave birth to Snap, a lilac girl at 4.00am, followed at 4.30am by Krackle, a cinnamon boy and then at 5.10am, Pop a blue boy, she is a fantastic mum so far, she  did it all by herself with no help from me.

August 13th 2009. I was woken by Kameko at 3am this morning, After an exhausting evening the day before and very little sleep, then working all day, I was looking forward to a good nights sleep, but anyway 3am it was. She didn't want the nursery box we gave her, she wanted the one Kali was in, which caused a lot of stress and bother for everyone. We then moved her upstairs, away from Kali, who is in the living room. She wasn't in active labour until 6.40am and delivered Leela, a siamese girl, then we waited and waited and waited, she was not in labour at all now. At 11.50am she gave birth to Fry, a siamese boy, who presented back foot first, so after a little tug of war, he came out. She then ceased labour yet again. I took her to the vet at 5.15pm who decided that there was one or two still in there and gave her oxytocin to start labour again. As soon as we returned home at 5.40pm she gave birth to Zoidberg who I think is a lilac or fawn male. She has not produced a 4th kitten and after ringing the vet again and being told that unless she is in distress just to leave her alone. She is now wandering around the house, eating, playing etc totally oblivious to the fact that her babies are now with Kali, who has plenty of milk because Kameko doesn't seem to have any. This will be Kameko's last litter, she will be spayed after these kittens are weaned and stay here with us as a neutered cat.

August 15th 2009       What a fantastic day out at the TICA show in Bracknell. Kaiya's first ever show and she did wonderfully.

                                      1st place x 6 for colour = 150 points

                                      1st place x 6 for division  = 150 points

                                       Final x 1, 5th place out of 29 cats = 110 points

Final x 1, 7th places best adult cat = 90 points out of 29 cats, which means Kaiya now has the title of champion.

August 29th.         Phoebe had her first show at Bristol today and although she behaved brilliantly she only placed 2nd in her open and didn't qualify in any of her side classes. Very disappointing but we will try again.

October 16th.       Ripley is starting to put on weight, her waist line is rapidly disappearing. I am 95% sure that she is pregnant. We have changed all the cats and the dogs over to Royal Canin dry food and are seeing great results. They are also on Natures diet raw food.   Kali is regaining her weight now that the kittens aren't feeding so often from her and finally Kaiya will be going on her honeymoon with Tarjjika Midnight Zodiac of Tarjjika Tonkinese early November, kittens hopefully due in January.

October 28th.       We lost our little blue point girl Savannah today, she was 11 weeks old. We are devastated, we only knew her for a short time but we loved her, as we love all our babies when they are born.

November 1st.     Had a fantastic weekend with TICA in Newbury with Kaiya.

                              1st place x 12 for colour = 300 points

                              1st place x 12 for division = 300 points

Final x 1, 9th place best adult cat out of 21 cats = 70 points

Final x 1, 6th place, best adult cat out of 31 cats = 150 points

Final x 1, 4th place, best adult cat out of 31 cats  = 170 points  which gives Kaiya the title of DGC

(Double Grand Champion), we missed Triple Grand by 10 points!!!!! Total points = 1490 with 5 finals

November 17th     We took Ripley to the vet today to see if puppies were coming or not as even though she had put on weight, she wasn't huge. Unfortunately it looks as if she is having a false pregnancy and there will not be the patter of little shar pei paws this year.

December12/13    We took Phoebe to the TICA show in Coventry this weekend. She did very well for her first TICA show and behaved beautifully.

                                1st place x 14 for colour = 350 points

                                1st place x 14 for division = 350 points

                                2nd place x 1 for colour = 20 points

                                2nd place x 1 for division = 20 points

Total points = 790 points. Unfortunately Phoebe did not final. It was a huge show with 87 All breed cats on Saturday

and 69 all breed cats on Sunday to compete against.

December 29th     Kaiya has 2 weeks to go in her pregnancy and she is huge, so we've either got a large litter or large kittens. She is doing very well. Kali is on honeymoon with Imperial Grand Champion Chaiross Demetrius. Although I would have liked to give her a bigger break in between litters, she is on her 5th call since her babies were born and is getting quite agitated, so we have made the decision to mate her earlier than we would normally like.

April 21st              Obviously I'm a bit delayed in writing this news, Kaiya obviously has had her kittens and Kali's are now 7 weeks old. We now have a new queen, our tonkinese chocolate solid girl Summer, who we think is lovely. Phoebe has been on honeymoon with a lovely blue boy and her kittens are due on April 30th. She is absolutely massive and very grumpy. Ripley is going to the vets next week and we are desperately hoping that she is pregnant this time. Plans for our own Tonkinese stud boy are underway and hopefully we will start on his stud house at the end of the year.

May 30th              Summer and Kaiya have been to the TICA show in Newbury this weekend. Kaiya is now Quadruple Grand Champion

gaining                 1st place x 12 for colour = 300 points

                              1st place x 11 for Division = 275 points

                               2nd place x 1 for Division = 20 points

Final 10th Best Cat out of 40 all breed cats = 110 points Total = 705 points giving her the title QGC.

Summer did very well in her first ever show

                               1st place x 12 for colour = 300 points

                               1st place x 12 for Division = 300 points

Final 5th Best Specialty Kitten out of 11 kittens

July 1st                   Kaiya has been on her honeymoon with Amorcatz Pharoahs Kiss, a lovely blue pointed boy and has kittens due         Around the first week of August and Kali has been on a honeymoon with a lovely siamese boy from Bryn cattery. Kali is being mated again so soon after her last litter because she will be spayed after this litter and rehomed. Kali is extremely stressed living in a houseful of unneutered cats. She is very unhappy and has to be kept away from some of our other girls because of fighting. We feel that once Kali is spayed she will settle down, she is being rehomed to live with her daughter Snap in the lovely countryside of Carmarthenshire. We will be sad to see her leave and it hasn't been an easy decision but her happiness and well being is what is important. Which means that we have a new Siamese/Oriental baby coming from Schimmel Siamese and Orientals which we are very excited about. We are also keeping a girl from Kaiya's next litter. So 2 new babies for us this year and hopefully our new Tonkinese stud boy will be with us in the New Year.

Other exciting news is that Kaiya has been given the Western European Regional Award of 'Best Tonkinese of the Year 2009/2010' which is a fantastic achievement.

20th July 2010  Kaiya's pregnancy is going well. She is not very big, we are thinking about 3 kittens this time and Kali's pregnancy is also going well, but she is absolutely HUGE, we are thinking 5-6 babies for her last litter. Just over 2 weeks to go.
