Week 1
I cannot believe it has been a week already!!! These 3 babies are doing very well. They are incredibly chubby. Unfortunately our 4th baby lost his battle on 17/01/2010. I cannot believe how chunky these 3 are. Blizzard hissed and spat at me today when I checked on them, she is one feisty lady. Her brothers are much more laid back. Kaiya is being an excellent mum and has even allowed Phoebe in the box with her, although Phoebe didn't quite know what to do once she was in there. Both Blizzard and Ice have both eyes open. Frosty has yet to view the wonderful world around him. We have named them the above names because of the snow that fell the week of their birth. We have been concentrating so hard on keeping our 4th baby with us that we really have not gotten to know the other babies as well as we should, but now I can relax and be fascinated by their little twitches as they sleep and by how much they have grown everyday. I haven't come up with their pedigree names yet, I will have to give it some serious thought.
Week 2
I know, I know, I'm late with my weekly report. They are really good babies, hardly making a sound, they are very content. Their mother however is driving me around the bend. She has decided (as most of the queens do) that now the babies are getting slightly more active and exploring the kitten box that she wants to move them upstairs and we now have to lock her in the living room when we are not there, to prevent that from happening, as on more than one occasion we have found a baby halfway up the stairs. Hopefully she will settle down and realise that I know best and the babies need to stay where they are. Kaiya is extremely protective over them at the present and it is really hard to get good photos as she doesn't like us taking them out for individual pictures and as soon as we go near the box, she gets in there with them. (well thats my excuse for the poor quality photos on the photo page and the lack of photos at the moment lol). Next week they are 3 weeks old, my favourite time, when they start exploring outside the box and wrestling with each other. I can't wait. The sex change fairy has visited this week and turned Ice into a little girl, so we now have a chocolate solid female, lilac solid female and chocolate mink male.
Week 3
The babies are developing their personalities now. They still haven't ventured outside the kitten box but it won't be long. They are all walking on all 4 paws and are now starting to play with each other and lick their paws, which is really funny as they are still quite unco-ordinated and often miss their target. The colours are really quite strong on all of the kittens, especially Blizzard and Ice. Kaiya has finally conceded and is leaving them where they are and is not trying to move them every 5 minutes, although I still shut her in the living room when noone is around. Kali is still keeping her distance and Kameko sniffed Blizzard yesterday and didn't hiss which is a good thing. Its amazing how fascinating they are even when they aren't doing anything. When they sleep they usually have a paw thrown across a sibling and they are all twitching in their sleep and sometimes their little tongues come out while they are sleeping.
Week 4
What a difference a week makes. Frosty was the first one out of the box to explore, followed by Ice and then reluctantly by Blizzard. They have met all of the other cats and Kameko has decided that 2 babies are enough for Kaiya to look after and keeps sneaking off with one of the babies into her den in the cat climbing tree or upstairs. She is constantly telling Kaiya what she is doing wrong and trying to take over the raising of the adventurous trio. Phoebe gives them lots of kisses and occasionally they have to be rescued from her because she plays a bit rough. The dogs are brilliant with them all as usual and the babies take no notice of them at all. Kali on the other hand is quite vocal in her dislike for the kittens and hisses at them whenever they get too close, I think that this is because she is very close to her delivery date and hopefully she will change when her babies are born. They spend their waking moments, pouncing, running, wrestling and biting everyones toes (ouch!) They are all teething and bite everything they come across. Frosty is particularly partial to belly rubs and rolls straight onto his back when you come in the room, Ice likes to run around as fast as her little legs can take her and Blizzard is quite vocal and wants to be picked up a lot. We have today introduced wet kitten food to them which Frosty took to straight away, Blizzard hates it and Ice is too busy to sit still enough to eat it. They are just so cute and chubby.
Week 5
These kittens are lovely. Frosty is a big bully to both of his sisters and fights with them until he makes them cry and we have to rescue them, but the girls have cottoned on to this and both attack him at the same time which evens up the odds a bit. They are all very good climbers and have now deserted the kitten box for the comfort of the chair which can get a bit crowded with 3 kittens and 2 or 3 adult cats fighting for space. Both the girls are eating solid dry food now and Frosty is still enjoying the baby wet food. I was extremely proud of Ice this morning who for the first time walked over to the litter tray and did a wee in there, how clever is she, lets hope the other two get the message and follow her example. Kameko was spayed after her last litter of kittens as she didnt produce any milk to feed them. The reason I have mentioned this is because I caught Ice latched onto one of Kameko's nipples just drinking away yesterday. These cats just amaze me. Kameko and Kaiya are raising these kittens together. I think that when Kali has her kittens and produces milk this lot will be in with her as well lol. They all enjoy cuddles and playing and are a real joy to watch.
Week 6
Well, we are having fun and games this week. I really have to pick a less stressful hobby lol. Kali who is 8 weeks pregnant has suddenly decided to stop hissing at the kittens and has adopted them. I caught her feeding them 2 days ago, which obviously is not ideal as she needs milk for her own upcoming brood. She is excluding Kameko and Kaiya from the raising of these kittens and keeps trying to carry them off one by one. Kaiya is so laid back that she just lets her take them, but fair play, if she wants to feed them, then she squeezes Kali out of the way. Poor old Kameko who adopted these kittens about 2 weeks ago has been totally pushed out of the loop. Phoebe is away at stud at present and is missing out on all of this drama. Good news is that all of the kittens are eating solid food and they have all basically potty trained themselves. They all use the litter boxes and we are not having any accidents. I will be moving them up to the covered litter boxes sometime next week. They really have lovely personalities.
Week 7
I have to apologise for this quick entry and lack of pictures on the diary page and picture page. Firstly the camera is not working and secondly we have visitors staying with us at the moment, as well as Kali due to have kittens anytime. I am also going on vacation next week for 2 weeks, (so hopefully Ken will update the webpage diary for me whilst I'm away). All the kittens are now fully litter trained using a covered litter box. Hopefully Ice and Frosty's new mummy and daddy will be able to get a visit in before I go away. I am going to miss them so much, they will be so much bigger when I see them again and I will be missing the first 2 weeks of Kali's babies, but they are all in capable hands.
Week 8
The babies are eating all their food and are very naughty, playing in Kayla’s school bag. Auntie Kali, aunt Kameko and Phoebe are all fighting and growling and keep scaring the babies away. All this playing ends in a very, very long nap. The Babies are behaving very good considering the new BLT’S. Blizzard is currently biting my knee. Frosty is now taking a nap because he has been wrestling with his tail all evening.
Week 9
The snowbabies had their vaccinations on Tuesday and all did very well and were very brave. The vet loved them all. I have just returned after 10 days in the USA and my family did a great job of taking care of all the animals for me. I can't believe how big they have gotten. Blizzard spent the night curled up with me last night, it was great to be back (although not as sunny as Florida lol). Blizzard and Ice's new mummy came to visit them and was very pleased with their progress. They are into everything but are being very respectful of the kittening box that the new babies are in, although I think that is more fear than respect because Kali is quite protective over the BLT's.
Week10
Frosty is the snuggler of the 3, (but then isn't it always the boys that are snugglers). Every night he comes over and settles down on my lap or in my arms and goes to sleep, he is a complete sweetheart. Ice, then comes over and sits on my lap and bites her brothers tail when he is trying to sleep, then she bites my fingers and my hands and is just completely naughty. She is so playful. Blizzard is the TV watcher. She sits on the TV cabinet and watches the TV for about 20 minutes at a time, she is going to need glasses soon. They are spending a majority of time with the other adult cats, Kaiya, Kameko and Phoebe upstairs in the computer room on the couch up there because Kali has upset everyone in the house. She has fought with Phoebe and Kameko, and Phoebe will not come near the living room and Kameko just starts growling as soon as she sees Kali. Kali's kittens will be venturing out of the kittening box in the next week, so it will be interesting to see how the Snowbabies deal with these strange little beings.
Week 11
Well the BLT's are venturing out of the box and have been greeted by Blizzard and Ice with lots of kisses. Frosty however is still a bit unsure and does a little hiss at them when they get too near. Frosty has had a slight reaction to his vaccination and is a bit under the weather, however, 4 x daily steaming, eye drops and lots of TLC from us and he is feeling a lot better. He is eating and drinking as normal. We had visitors today, who came to meet our adult cats and kittens, and did any of the adult cats behave.... well the answer is no!! They are all still squabbling with Kali and this was demonstrated quite a few times during the visit. Frosty who was lying on top of the radiator got his back leg stuck in the hole and panicked because he couldn't get out. His pitiful meows brought Kali, Kameko and Kaiya to the rescue. Except they all grabbed him by his scruff at the same time and were trying to pull him in different directions. I had to practically force all the adult cats off him to pull him out of the hole, only to be bitten by several adult cats and Frosty all at the same time and of course all of this was in front of our visitors......needless to say we had lots of puffed tails and growling going on from every 4 legged feline in the house, not to mention my bloody hand, but the important thing is everyone was ok in the end and Frosty is fine now. Blizzard and Ice were very well behaved and had lots of belly rubs from the visitors.
Week 12
Last vaccinations this week. Frosty is much better, we will see if the vet will give him his vaccines at the same time as his sisters but I don't foresee any problems. They all have lovely personalities and their new mummy has been very lucky in the fact that she lives about 20 minutes away and is able to visit them often. They will be staying here for a little bit longer due to their new owners moving house, but that is fine, I'm not ready to let them go anyway because they truly do have such wonderful loving natures. They rush around the house like mad, possessed creatures and then when they are all tuckered out, they find some nice warm human to come and cuddle up with. All of the adult cats love these babies as do we and I'm really glad that Blizzard is staying with us.
Week 13
Everyone had their vaccinations last week including Frosty, who has had a miraculous recovery and is making up for lost time. He is pouncing and chasing everything with fur. He and the other snowbabies have discovered the catflap to outside and zoom in and out of it about 30 times a day. He then proceeded to get his paw caught in the catflap and cried for help. When we released his little paw, he then limped around to every human holding up his injured paw for all to see. Whilst limping he found a pipecleaner and started throwing that in the air and leaping after it, but he forgot all about his 'supposed' injury. He is just like a mad man. Ice is just lovely, she leaps up on your lap and plays for a while and then curls up and goes to sleep. Her colour is amazing and the photo's do not do her justice. Blizzard is bullying the BLT's and leaps and pounces on them and takes their toys off them when they find one. They all come when you call them, they are really nice, well mannered little fur people and I am very proud of them.
Week 14
The Snowbabies are here until the 6th of May, so pictures will continue to be added to their page but most new pictures that contain the BLT's and the Snowbabies will be put on the BLT's page...
Week 15
Oscar and Gracie left to go and live with their new mum and dad today. I'm sure that they will be very happy, Summer was looking for them last night and meowing, but she is fine today. Kaiya hasn't noticed that they have gone,

The Birth
Kali delivered her first Havana girl (Bacon) at 12.15pm on Friday 5th March, followed by Tomato a seal point boy at 1.20pm, she delivered a Havana boy at 2.10pm but unfortunately he was stillborn, she then delivered her 4th and final seal point boy (Lettuce) at 3.25pm. Bacon was quite demanding and loud after her birth and I finally had to give her a bottle to get her to be quiet. Eventually she suckled from mom with her brothers and that made her content and happy and at last quiet. I think even Kali didnt know what to do with her and was becoming quite frustrated with the little madam.
Week 1
The BLT’s are happily sleeping; they are quite chubby but nowhere near as chubby as the snow babies. Kali is very protective over them and will not let anyone else near them. Bacon is a noisy little madam but Tomato and Lettuce are quite quiet. Their eyes are fully open now and the colours on Tomato and Lettuce are coming through.
Week 2
What a surprise to come home to such alert babies. I walked into the living room and Bacon shot out of the box to greet me (quickly dragged back in by Mom). They are all attentive, inquisitive and active for such young kittens. They are desperately trying to get out of the entrance of the kittening box. Bacon came out talking and hasn't changed much since. The boys are a lot quieter. Its quite funny because Kali keeps a paw on Bacon at all times because she is forever trying to make a break for the entrance and the 3 of them sit with their little heads poking out of the entrance to see whats going on and wait for sneaky kisses from Grandma Kameko (who Kali hates at the moment).
Week 3
I've said it before, but I will say it again, these kittens are so advanced for their ages. Tomato came out of the box yesterday and was greeted by Blizzard from the snowbabies. I watched anxiously for any hissing or hitting from the older kitten but she just licked Tomato and continued giving him lots of kisses while he was out. He met Ripley and Bishop our two Shar Pei and was totally unfazed by them. All three of the babies are walking on all four paws and playing and wrestling with each other. Kali is being a typical mother whose kittens are growing more active and moved the kittens on 3 different occasions yesterday. We found Kameko looking after them while Kali fetched them one by one. We have put them back in the kittening box where the heating pad is and now the living room door remains shut when we are out. The only one left to venture out is Lettuce who is a little more hesitant than his two siblings. Bacon sits at the entrance and meows constantly because she can see the other older kittens playing and wants to come out, but Kali keeps dragging her back in as soon as she sticks her head all the way out.
Week 4
Well, we have had a busy week this week. We have had lots of visitors to the house, The snowbabies new mummy has been to visit them and Phoebe had a visitor this week to meet her and the rest of the cats and today the BLT's had their new family visit them. They were all on their best behaviour and won the hearts of their new family who are adopting Lettuce and Bacon. Tomato has learnt how to climb the cat tree and is very good at it. The kittens were tried on kitten wet food yesterday and Bacon loved it, Lettuce spat it out and Tomato was busy getting into everything. Lettuce rolled over for tummy rubs yesterday and gave me the loudest purr of the day. He is such a lovely little boy. Bacon loves everyone and follows the dogs and the kids around and Tomato loves head rubs just like his Grandma Kameko.. Kali is still quite protective over them but she has stopped moving them all over the place which is great. They are interacting with each other and us and were trying to play with the dragonfly toy with the Snowbabies but the Snowbabies kept leaping on them, so it was a bit rough and they gave up and went to bed, which is what I am about to do now.
Week 5
Well the BLT's have all been snapped up. They had a visit today from Tomato's new family who were looking for a companion for their chocolate point girl and a new family member to join them. They are all climbing the cat trees, the couches etc. (The kittens that is not The Webb's). They are playing with the Snowbabies and Kali's and Kaiya's tails. Tomato was even climbing Ripley this morning. Bacon has moved onto Royal Canin Baby Cat dry food and prefers it to the kitten wet food. Lettuce is interested in the dry food but won't actually put it in his mouth, but he is eating the wet food. Tomato, however, still is not interested in any of it. We will move on to litter training this week (not my favourite time). They have moved out of the kittening box and into the cat basket on top of the box. They are about a week early on everything that they are doing. They love interacting with people and the other cats. Kali is still quite possessive over them all, hopefully this will lessen as they get older.
Week 6
The BLT's are everywhere. They idolise the Snowbabies and follow them everywhere. They have discovered the stairs and are often found hanging out with heavily pregnant Phoebe and Grandma Kameko upstairs in the games room. Kali is in heat and calling and leaves them for long periods of time now. They are all litter trained in a covered box except for the occasional little piddle accident and all three babies are eating wet and dry food. They meow and come running towards us when we have been absent for a period of time. They are very people orientated and love being petted and cuddled. The basket is full of cats including Kali, 3 Snowbabies and 3 BLT's so it is a little crowded in there at the moment. They are also hanging out on the backs of the chairs in the front window with the Snowbabies and we have lots of people stopping outside to watch them.
Week 7
Tomato has had a huge growth spurt and is almost twice the size of Lettuce and Bacon. They had their first trip out to the vet yesterday for a general check up and worming and they were all very good all be it very noisy. Bacon was the loudest as usual and Tomato and Lettuce were just shaking in their boots (if they were wearing boots that is). The kids were being naughty yesterday and making all the kittens in the house go around in circles until they were really dizzy and couldn't walk straight. Bacon has taken to sleeping on the sky box and falls asleep sitting up and its hilarious to watch her sway and fall off when she falls asleep. Bacon was very naughty when I came in for lunch and piddled on my lap while I was eating my lunch (how rude!) I don't know what she was thinking.
Week 8
I can't believe they are 8 weeks old already, they still seem so small, but I think its because I'm comparing them to the Snowbabies. Its quite funny because all the kittens hang out together and the BLT's idolise the Snowbabies. They are their cooler, older cousins. I think they will really miss Gracie and Oscar when they leave next week. I have to be very careful as I have found these kittens in the dryer a couple of times, so all appliances need to remain closed and carefully checked before they get clothes put in them and turned on. They have even followed the Snowbabies out of the catflap into the cat pen outside, they are extremely brave, even their mother doesn't venture outside unless she wants to tell the neighbours that she is ready and available for another little honeymoon, but we keep telling her that it will be a while yet before she can go and visit a nice male cat. First vaccinations next week. I just have to add that I have just discovered Bacon lying next to Summer and both of them were suckling from Kaiya. Summer is 15 weeks old!!!! and Kaiya is not Bacon's mother!!!!! You have to watch these kittens all the time, they are so naughty.
Week 9
The BLT's had their vaccinations today and they were all very brave. They had a thorough check up by the vet and are all fine and healthy. Lettuce and Bacon are sock stealers. Bacon has found a yellow glove and runs around the house with it, growling at everyone and everything that comes near them. Not to be outdone Lettuce goes into the laundry hamper and steals the socks and does the same thing with them. They are so funny because they are so loud when they are growling. Bacon is also addicted to dog food and I have now taken to feeding the dogs in the kitchen where she cant stick her head in the bowl with Ripley. Ripley growls at her but Bacon takes no notice whatsoever, she is going to be a right little madam, but we knew that the second she was born lol. They go outside into the cat cage with no fear whatsoever.
Week 10
I have to say I had completely forgotten about doing the 10 week diaries, so thank you to Denise (Bacon & Lettuce's Mum) for reminding me. I do apologise we have been quite busy setting up our new website www.janespetstore.co.uk offering pet products at great prices (thats my little plug lol). Anyway, what can I say, these kittens are so naughty. They are climbing up my curtains, which I am really not impressed with. Bacon is still trying to eat the dog food and Ripley is not happy about it at all, and no matter how loud she growls at Bacon, Bacon will not move. The Sky man was here today to hook up Ken's new HD box and the BLT's and all the adults were into everything. They were running off with the mans wires and anything light enough to carry, they climbed into his toolbox and into the box that the HD box came in. They were a nightmare. It is really nice when they are sleeping... I must admit though, that they are ever so slightly influenced by their older cousin Summer and receive no discipline from Mum, Kali because she is in heat yet again, along with Kaiya. I will post more pictures over the weekend, I promise!!
Week 11
I am on the ball this week. I have to say that these 3 are probably the naughtiest kittens we have had so far. They are into absolutely everything. They are like 3 little hooligans and all band together to cause mischief. They are ankle biters and always like to play around with your legs and ankles, which can be quite painful. I have been very remiss in taking pictures lately but it really is because they are either sleeping which is not very exciting or they are moving too fast for me to catch them in action. Bacon decided to climb onto one of the cat trees last week and make a daring leap for the tv table, she missed, hit the side of the tv table and slid down like a cartoon character. After making sure she was not injured (well just her pride anyway) it was really funny. Lettuce and Bacon are usually always together which is great as they are both going to live in the same new home and Tomato hangs out with Summer (she is going to be lonely when they are gone but then again 'The Fatties a.k.a. The Cars' will be up and about by then). I am away next weekend, but I will update the diary before I go. They are booked in the vets for the final vaccinations next week...
Week 12
The BLT's had their final vaccinations tonight and are all sleeping peacefully, they are curled up with Grandma Kameko. They have been very good this week and have been helping Ken build our second cat tree (much to Ken's dismay as they keep taking his screws and nails). They were climbing the tree before it even had carpet on it. They have been outside enjoying the sunshine, mainly with Kameko, Summer and Kaiya because Mum Kali is in heat yet again and is busy screaming the house down and picking fights with Phoebe. As you can see from the new pictures, Lettuce and Bacon have found a new sock to play with. Lettuce is so funny because he growls when he has something he doesn't want the others to have. I am away this weekend but will be packing their bags ready for their leaving date as soon as I come home. All their paperwork is ready. I will miss them tearing around the house.
Week 13
Well the house would be quiet if the Cars weren't meowing all the time because they climb things and then get stuck, but the BLT's have all left to go to their new homes. Hopefully I will get lots of pictures as they grow. I them already

Birth
Kali gave birth to 3 lovely, big, healthy babies in the early hours of 12th August. The birth was easy and all were delivered within an hour. She is a fantastic mum so far. She is now looking after the Futuramas as well, because Kameko is not producing enough milk to feed thim.
Week 1
Not a lot to write really other than I cannot believe that they are a week old already. All three have their eyes open and are gaining weight appropriately. Kali is an extremely protective mother and had a complete panic attack when I changed the bedding. We had a fight on our hands to stop her moving all the babies and had to put her out of the room to calm down so other than a quick check in the morning and a peek in the afternoon I have left her to it. They are quiet and content, you hardly know that they are there. She is an excellent mother.
Week 2
All 3 kittens are doing well, they have doubled in size. They have started walking on their paws now instead of crawling. Snap and Krackle come toward us when they hear our voice. I will try and get individual pictures today but Kameko has finally been allowed into the kitten box with Kali (I'm so pleased for her). She is so happy to be in there with her babies and Kali leaves them for longer periods now that Grandma is in with them. Which now means that there is always a doting female in the box and it is harder to get the kittens out separately. I have finally put some pictures on the kitten page, they are not great but the best that I could do.
Week 3
My favourite age, like a wobbly toddler. They recognize my voice now in the morning and all come running to the entrance of the box. Kali is more relaxed now that Kameko is babysitting most of the time. Snap, definately has the biggest lungs, Krackle is the bold one and Pop is going to be the cuddler. Kaiya has checked them all out and given them a lick. Phoebe was interested yesterday as they were trying to get out of the box and sat there and popped each one on the head with her paw after giving them a lick. I have posted 3 week pictures onto the picture page now. O.K., after speaking to Kat Wadden from Schimmel Orientals and Dr. Carolyn Smith from Moustaches Siamese & Orientals we have jointly come to the conclusion that Krackle is probably a Havana and not a cinnamon as only my girl carries the cinnamon gene and not the father. Thank you to both Kat and Carolyn for all of your help, I'm sure it won't be the last time either, sorry.
Week 4
We are starting the kittens on solid food this week. Snap and Krackle are doing very well. Pop is not so sure about it. We had a visit from Pauline and Colin this week who have 'snapped up' our oriental lilac girl Snap. Snap will be going to live with them in West Wales. All of the kittens are out and about, Kaiya is in the box with them now as well as Kameko and Kali, Phoebe thinks it is Christmas and we have bought small wind up furry toys to pounce on and play with. Next thing will be litter training them (not my favourite time).
Week 5
Snap, Krackle and Pop are all doing fine. Snap is the really adventurous one who will follow you everywhere. Krackle stays a little closer to home and likes to be closer to his 2 mums and the other kittens and Pop loves anyone with 2 legs. Unfortunately Pop has not been visited by the sex change fairy and turned into a girl so that he can stay here. He is definately a cwtcher (welsh for loves hugs). They are all eating solid foods on their own and have litter trained themselves (thank goodness). I cannot believe how fast these kittens have caught on to everything. They will soon all be up the stairs exploring the 2nd floor of the house. I am trying to get individual photos for the their 5 week pictures and I am having difficulty getting them to stay still. Snap is a like a model and poses for the camera as soon as she sees it. Pop is the same, everyone else moves to fast and won't stay still long enough to take a good picture.
Week 6
I'm glad that I don't have a tail because no ones tail is safe this week from these kittens. The babies have all learnt to climb the kitten trees and have found the pink cat basket that they all eventually find and take root in. Snap, Krackle and Pop have also found the stairs and are up and down it quite a few times a day, which is quite dangerous for us humans. I have had my shoulder surgery and am in quite a bit of pain and I was walking up the stairs yesterday to go to the bathroom and 3 kittens and an adult cat rushed up past me, I fell back, stepped on Pop (he is ok) and reached out with my bad arm to grab the bannister to save myself from falling. Needless to say after checking on Pop who again was fine, I then spent an hour in my bedroom crying my eyes out because of the pain I had given myself from moving my arm and putting weight on it. We will be moving them onto the closed litter box this week as they are completely litter trained in the open box. We are expecting a visit soon from Pop's new family, it will be nice to finally meet them and for them to see him in purrrson because pictures really don't do these babies justice. Talking of pictures I will get some new ones soon.
Week 7
I know, I know, I'm late with the diary, we have had a busy week this week and that is my only excuse... Krackle's new parents came to see him on the weekend .... they wanted a Havana boy and it was a very hard decision between Zoidberg and Krackle... but after much deliberating they chose Krackle to be the new member of their family. Pop's new family came to see him yesterday and of course all the babies had been playing for about an hour before they arrived and then promptly fell asleep once they got here. Luckly they did get to see all the babies in action before they left. So that means all of the Krispies have now found new homes.... Snaps new mum is coming for a visit next week, she will be able to see Snaps new green eyes as they are slowly changing colour.
Week 8
Where is the time going? It seems to go a lot slower when you are waiting for babies to be born and then once they are, it just flys by!!! Unfortunately we had to postpone Snap's mums visit as my daughter and husband both have had swine flu!!! We should have the all clear this week in time for Zoidberg's new parents to come and meet him. What can I say, Snap is the biggest of all the kittens, she is the noisiest and most demanding of all the kittens but once she has got a snuggle or a play out of the way she is a little angel (honestly Pauline). Krackle is a polite little chap who asks politely for a snuggle and waits patiently until you pick him up and then will happily lay on his back for belly rubs and last but not least is Pop who is a lovely, polite, quiet and playful little chap who is quite happy to wait for snuggles with either dog, cats or humans, hes not really fussy. Next week is their first vaccinations and worming.
Week 9
Not a lot going on really. Snap decided to investigate a bucket in the kitchen and was quite surprised to find it contained water. I think she exited the bucket a lot quicker than entering. She was quite embarrassed but in typical cat fashion tried to look as if it wasn't a big deal. Pop and Krackle are followers and decided not to follow their sister into the unknown, which was a good thing in the end. They are eating loads and playing hard and then they all crash, one crashes first and slowly they all find their way into the pink bed and fall fast asleep. They are just too cute.
Week 10
Wow, 10 weeks old. They are getting so big now. Snap, Krackle and Pop were extremely brave at the vets, no one cried and they all behaved beautifully. The vet was very pleased with them. He said they were lovely, big, healthy kittens. They all seem to be doing fine after the vaccinations, They are typical playful kittens who are full of mischief and get into all sorts of trouble. I have started to get their kittens packs ready for their new families. They love sitting in the window and playing along the window sill and I find lots of people stopping outside and watching them, its quite funny seeing peoples faces because sometimes there are 10 cats sitting in the window, as well as 2 dogs trying to look out as well.
Week 11
Snap, Krackle & Pop are all doing very well. All 3 are healthy, playful, big kittens. I apologise that this is very short and I apologise that I have not updated the photos on the kitten page but we have had a terrible week which will be explained more in the Futuramas diary.
Week 12
These are probably the largest kittens we have ever had. They are huge. All are doing fine. Vaccinations on Monday, and this weekend we will be getting their bags packed ready for them to go off to their new homes. Kayla and I were at the Newbury TICA show on Saturday and Sunday, where I might add Kaiya gained Double Grand Champion, and we purchased a new toy called the 'Dragonfly cat toy'. It is fantastic, it is the best cat toy I have ever bought. All the cats love it and no matter where they are in the house, as soon as you pick the toy up, they all come running.
Week 13
Snap, Krackle and Pop have all left to live with their new families. We have already received pictures of Snap and Pop in their new homes, so thank you very much from their new families. All the families have promised to keep in touch and let us know how they are doing. It really quiet here. Hopefully Ripley is not having a phantom pregnancy and we will have some shar pei puppies to keep us busy and of course we are looking forward to our new tonkinese litter in January. Update pictures on the picture page of the kittens in their new homes.
Introducing The Futurama's - Leela, Fry and Zoidberg. 1 blue point siamese girl, 1 lilac point siamese boy and 1 Havana, boy, born 13th August. The mother of these kittens is Adsetam Kameko Hari Nezumi, seal tortie siamese and the father is Grand Champion Claerpenton Pimpernel, lilac oriental. These kittens will be available to go to their new homes around November 12th. Pictures on Kameko's kitten pics.

The Birth
Kameko gave birth to 1 siamese, girl at 6.50am, she stopped labour and didn't resume until 11.50am, when she gave birth to a siamese boy. She stopped labour again. I took her to the vet at 5.15pm who gave her an injection of oxytocin to start contractions again. We brought her home and she delivered Zoidberg at 5.40pm. It was a very long day for everyone. The kittens are now with Kali because Kameko is not producing enough milk to feed them. They have all settled really well with Kali and are eating fine. Kameko is understandably upset because Kali has her babies and is attacking Kali everytime she sees her. If Kali isn't available then she is attacking the dogs (bless them). Hopefully things will calm down very soon. Futurama is a cartoon shown on Sky1 at about 6.30pm weekdays.
Week 1
Again, not a lot to report, all eyes are open, they are gaining weight appropriately. Kameko has calmed down and adopted Phoebe our Burmese kitten. We took Kameko to the vet on Monday as she was feeling under the weather. She had a slight temperature so she has had an antibiotic jab which will last for about 10 days, she is much better already. I think that Zoidberg is going to turn out to be fawn. They are great colours.
Week 2
All 3 kittens are doing well. Leela is starting to get some colour on her tail, nose and ears which makes me think that she may be chocolate or seal, Fry doesn't have colours points yet which means that he may be lilac point but only time will tell. I'm still quite confused over Zoidbergs colour as his head and tail is darker than his body but he is definately not lilac, I'm just not sure if he is fawn or caramel because they are very similar, I will have to wait until his paw pads, nose etc becomes the correct colour for me to tell. Kameko is finally allowed into the kittening box with Kali and the babies, so she is now with her babies and grandbabies. I think Kali is quite relieved to have someone in there as she comes out of the box more now to spend time with the rest of us. Fry is very funny as he spits at you when you put your hand in the box, Leela is laid back and Zoidberg comes towards you as fast as he can. I will try and get individual pictures tonight. I have downloaded pictures on the kitten photos page, not great but the best I could do.
Week 3
Fry escaped out of the box yesterday so we kindly put him back in as he was a bit bewidered as to what to do now that he was out. I think that he is going to be a lilac point siamese. Leela is still quite laid back although she has a good set of lungs on her. She is blue point at the moment but again that could change. Everyday I pick her up to see if she is still blue as I so want a blue point but blues quite often turn into chocolates or seals at an early age. I think that she will be staying with us regardless of what colour she is. Zoidberg is so laid back he is practically horizontal, still not sure about his colour, I will have to consult with other breeders to confirm all of their colours. It is quite difficult to keep the diaries separate since they are all in the same box together but I will try my best. Again, after consulting with Kat from Schimmel Orientals and Carolyn from Moustaches Siamese & Orientals, we have reached a conclusion that Zoidberg is probably a Havana like Krackle. Once again, thanks Kat and Carolyn.
Week 4
I apologise now for repeating myself on this diary. Fry is eating solid food really well, Zoidberg and Leela are doing ok and are eating off my hand (and sometimes trying to eat my hand). Phoebe particularly likes Fry and Leela for playing with (although she is a bit rough and they do have to be rescued quite a bit). Zoidberg has this funny habit of coming out of the box and sitting next to your feet. He is very partial to Bishop's paws and often goes and sits with him. Ripley tries to stay away from the kitten's as she has had a couple of telling's off from Kameko. Again, I will be starting litter training this week.
Week 5
O.k. I am going to try and update this for the 3rd time, I keep typing it out and when it goes to update it doesn't do it aaaahhhhhh!!!!! Fry is the baby of the group even though he was born 2nd. Both mothers baby him and won't let him go anywhere, everytime he ventures out on his own one of them brings him back. He does love anyone with 2 legs though. His lilac points are just starting to show. Leela is very independent and doesnt really let anyone tell her what to do (typical female) and Zoidberg is very much like Krackle, laid back personality and very playful. Zoidberg still likes to hang out with Ripley and Bishop our two Sharpei dogs but unfortunately for him, Ripley is in heat and Bishop is busy doing his dogly duty and trying to provide us with some puppies. Zoidberg gets in their way sometimes and has to be rescued quite a bit. It was quite funny the other day because Bishop was sleeping and the kittens were climbing over him and playing with his tail when Zoidberg leapt onto his testicles. I don't think I have ever seen Bishop move that quickly before. I apologise ahead of time for next weeks diary as it will probably be very short as I am have shoulder surgery on Tuesday and probably won't be feeling to clever for a couple of weeks.
Week 6
One thing you may have noticed this week is that Zoidberg has changed colour again. He is now a chocolate shaded oriental (which still needs to be confirmed). He is definately not the same colour as Krackle and has a silver shading on his fur. Fry is still the smallest of all 6 but I think he is also the fastest and the instigator of all the trouble. Leela is playful and adventurous and all 3 kittens have found the stairs and the kitchen. Fry was leaping on his brothers and sisters this morning and then took a huge leap and landed on Bishop's back (lucky for him Bishop is really laid back and just looked at him). All of the babies are coming on lovely. Kali has done a great job caring for all of them. Ok, this is the last time, Zoidberg is a Havana again and a Havana he will stay.
Week 7
Well all of the Krispies have been reserved and that just leaves 'Fry' our lilac point boy, who is a complete sweetheart and has decided that snuggling with us is preferable to fighting for space in the kitten basket. The kittens now have the run of the house except the bedrooms and often realise they are somewhere strange on their own and start crying. Last night we heard crying from upstairs and 3 adult cats went running. Kayla, my daughter investigated and found that Leela had jumped up onto the toilet and fell in.... what a nightmare ...., she was cold and wet, she was given a bath because of chemicals in the toilet and wrapped in a warm towel to dry. She was fine afterwards, playing with the other babies and eating normally. It did frighten us though and now the toilet door has to remain closed at all times and the toilet seat down. We are looking forward to meeting Zoidbergs new family next week.
Week 8
Ok now for the Futurama's. Leela is fine after her encounter with the toilet, Leela is her own person, she does what she wants to do when she wants to do it, regardless of what you would like her to do. Zoidberg is very much like Krackle and will politely ask to be picked up although he is not so keen on belly rubs, he is fine with a snuggle facing up the correct way lol and then that leaves little Fry, who is the absolute purr box. He is so funny, he pounces on imaginary things, he demands to be picked up and when you do pick him up, he rubs all over you, if you are not careful he will rub himself off the couch and back onto the floor. He finds his little paws fascinating and will play with them on his back for quite a while. He is an absolute sweetheart and is becoming quite a handsome little boy now his colour is coming through. Vaccinations next week.
Week 9
Well a busy week for the Futurama's. Fry's new mummy came to see him and all the kittens thought that we had brought them a new climbing frame (good job she wore jeans). Anyway she fell in love with Fry and he now has the handsome name of Oscar. We also had a visit from Zoidberg's new family, who agreed that the pictures do not do these kittens justice, they are much prettier/handsomer in person. Both new families were extremely lucky to have all the kittens awake and watch them in action. Zoidberg's new pet name is Riley, so I have changed his pedigree name in keeping with this. The pedigree certificates have been mailed this week and vaccinations on Friday.
Week 10
I think that next time I have 2 litters together I will combine the kitten diaries as it is very difficult to write something different as all the kittens are together all the time. Leela, Fry and Zoidberg, or should I say Savannah, Oscar and Riley were very brave at the vets (deja vu?) and all seem to be fine, its lovely when the kittens have vaccinations because you know that they will sleep most of the day when you get home. Not that I don't love watching their antics when they are awake because they fascinate me and make me laugh, but sometimes its just nice to know where they all are at the same time as they seem to always be 4 sleeping, 2 awake and then they all swap over and then they are all awake at the same time, climbing up your legs, jumping and pouncing on everything and everybody. It is extremely noisy in the house at the moment as Kameko, Kaiya and Kali are all calling at the same time. My neighbours must love me!!!
Week 11
We have had a really trying week this week. Unfortunately Savannah (Leela) passed away last night. Fry & Zoidberg are doing well, the other kittens are all healthy and fine. Savannah has struggled with her health since falling in the toilet. Even though she had been to the vets several times and seemed healthy at the time of the vaccinations, she started going down hill after her first vaccination, she started coughing and had a very bad cold, she then stopped eating and drinking for the last couple of days. She had anti biotics and anti inflammatories, and was syringe fed a/d food and water but after her 5th trip to the vet in a week, she was finally put on a drip last night for dehydration and sadly died in the night. As you can imagine we are all devastated. This is when I feel that I will not breed anymore because I feel like a failure when I lose a baby. I have lost babies before very early on in the first couple of days after birth but never one this old and it is very hard to accept. Savannah was a beautiful baby, the blue point that I always wanted. I had her for such a short time but I will always be grateful for that. Gone but never forgotten, she will be missed dearly.
Week 12
Our last week with these babies. We shall miss them terribly. Hopefully we will have puppies to keep us occupied in about 10 days, although Ripley is not very big and the scanner at the vets is broken (typical) so we still cant be sure. Kaiya is going off to stay with Zac on a little honeymoon on Sunday so again the tiny patter of little tonky feet in January hopefully. I have 3 queens calling at the moment which is creating some conflict. Kali and Kameko cannot even be in the same room without fighting so they are separated and either Phoebe or Kaiya has to keep the one in the bedroom company. Anyway I have kitty paperwork and bags to pack...
Week 13
Zoidberg (Riley) has gone to live with his new family and I think he will have no problem being spoilt by them all. Little Fry has been kept a week longer than everyone else as he was not able to have his last vaccination at the same time as the others. He went to the vet today and had the all clear as fit and healthy for his vaccines. He sat on my shoulder which is his favourite place in the world and was so busy trying to talk to everyone in the waiting room that he was trying to purr and talk at the same time. it was hilarious. Everyone loved him and wanted to take him home. He sat on everyones shoulders including the receptionist and the vet. Maybe I can make another excuse and keep him a bit longer (just kidding Shirley he is coming home to you soon). Next diary will be in 2010. See you then! Updated pictures on the picture page of the kittens in their new homes.
Kaiya's kittens have all been rehomed now.
Kaiya's kittens are finally here!!!
Kaiya gave birth to 5 healthy tonkinese babies early this morning 23rd January 2009. I had a little bit of a fright as the first kitten was a little stuck and took a long time to come out. I had to give her a little pull as she came out tail first but once I got her out the rest popped out pretty quickly and easily. All 5 babies and Momma are doing fine. Dad is Tarjjika Midnight Zodiac. These are 2nd generation tonkinese and will be sold to pet homes only. Please scroll down for the weekly kitten update and then click on the button for Kaiya's 2009 litter to see updated photos of all the kittens. A deposit will reserve your new kitten and you will be updated regularly on their development with emails and photos.
Bugsy (female) Blousy (male) Knuckles (male) Fat Sam (male) Dandy Dan (male)
All of Kaiya's kittens have now found new homes and will be leaving us on the 25th and 26th of April. Thank you for your interest. Our next planned litter will be Orientals and Siamese hopefully available August and then again in November. Tonkinese kittens will be available at the beginning of 2010. Keep checking our site for updates.
Week1
We have nicknamed these kittens after the film Bugsy Malone, a play that my daughter is taking part in, in school. They were 4 days old in the above pictures. Bugsy had her 1 eye open at 12 hours old and 2 eyes open at 3 days old, followed closely by Knuckles. The rest now have both eyes open. They were a week old yesterday. All the kittens are doing very well and are all equal sizes. Updates will follow weekly. We should have chocolates and lilacs in this litter. If you are interested in meeting one of these babies in the near future please call to make an appointment.
Week 2
Bugsy and Knuckles are the trouble makers. They have already figured how to get out of the nursery box. They hear us when we come into the room and wake everyone up by meowing and meowing until they get attention from someone. They are starting to get their colour points but I still do not know what they will be yet. They love being petted already. I have never had such forward kittens before, but then again they are Tonkinese!!!!! I think we have 2 pointed coat patterns and 3 intermediate coat patterns. Please see Kaiya's 2009 litter for new photo's.
Week 3
Ok, everyone has been shuffled around now that I can tell them apart and know boys from girls. Bugsy is still Bugsy but is a girl and is a pointed coat pattern (chocolate?), Blousy is the former Knuckles, I am still unsure of coat pattern and colour, and is a girl, Fat Sam is still Fat Sam and is a boy, he is a pointed coat pattern possibly blue?, Knuckles is the former Blousy and is a boy with an intermediate coat pattern, possible lilac? and Dandy Dan is the former Tallulah, he is a boy and is an intermediate coat pattern, possibly lilac?
Bugsy is still the naughty one along with Blousy, Fat Sam is a quiet boy and Dan and Knuckles are the playful ones who keep pouncing on everyone else. They are all playing and running around. Bugsy is having a bottle as well as feeding with mum as she is a bit smaller than all the rest and meow's the loudest, so we are giving her extra to make sure she doesn't fall too far behind on weight gain. It is very hard to get good photos of them because they keep running around. Kali still is not happy about the new additions and make sure she tells them when they are out of the nursery box, Kameko is curious but not inclined to share kitten raising duties with Kaiya.
Week 4
Ok, now this is my favourite age. Although they are only 3.5 weeks old, they have teeth and are biting everything. I tried them with a little kitten food yesterday. Knuckles and Dan ate until they could eat no more. Blousy would eat off your fingers but not the plate. Bugsy would eat it if you put it in her mouth but was not interested and Sam was not interested at all. Kali has decided that these new additions are great for playing with and pouncing on. Kameko is disgusted with the whole thing but spends her time in the kitten room overseeing everybody. They seem to change colour everyday and are really developing their running and pouncing skills. Nothing fazes them. Bugsy even though she is the smallest can jump up onto the couch and climbs everywhere. They love people and want constant attention from us when we are in there. They are going to make fantastic pets and companions to their new mummies and daddies.
Week 5
We met Deb on Sunday who came over to visit the kittens. Kaiya was feeding them when Deb came in and then Kaiya decided to get up and sit on Deb's lap and continue to feed them there. Deb chose our little quiet boy Sam. His name is going to remain as Sam and Deb will visit him as often as she can between now and the end of April. Kameko who has been a right old grouch this whole time growling and hissing at the kittens and her own daughter Kali. Today she was sat on my lap and Blousy climbed up and sat in my lap also. Kameko licked her and Blousy licked her back. Kameko was smitten. She then picked up Blousy and carried her into the kitten box and then proceeded in gathering all of the kittens up and taking them into the kitten box. She has now been letting them suckle even though she has no milk. The kitten box is now a bit crowded as Kaiya, Kali, Kameko and 5 babies are in there together. But peace and harmony has once again decended onto the house. All of the kittens are eating solid kitten meat. Bugsy still screams for her bottle as she has decided that it is easier than fighting her brother's and sister for a nipple. The kittens have been moved down into the living room and the dogs are coping very well with the disruption. Knuckles and Blousy are using the litter box. The others haven't quite figured it out yet, so the bedding is being changed once or twice a day at the moment. Anyway, everyone is healthy, active and happy.
Week 6
Deb came to visit Sam on Saturday and was pleased with his progress (although I think she would like to take him home now). We met Anna and her two sons, George and Sam on Sunday and they are going to be taking Dan. He will be sharing his home with their other pets and also his half sister MiMi from Liz Case at Tarjjika Tonkinese. All of the kittens are now litter trained and are now moving on to a covered box instead of the open box that they start with. They are all eating solid foods, both wet and dry (although they do try and sneak a drink from Mum when she lets them). The kittens are totally relaxed around the dogs and the dogs barely take any notice of them, even when they curl up next to them or climb on them. I am really pleased with these kittens, they are very happy, content, friendly kittens. I will be really sorry to see them go. Blousy and Bugsy will be going to live in London with Traci, Phillip, Grace and Cameron, so it is just Knuckles looking for a new Mummy and Daddy now.
Week 7
Well can you believe it the babies are 7 weeks old today. They are real characters, really outgoing and friendly. All the new owners are getting regular pictures and updates although picture taking is very difficult as they either have to be asleep or they are too fast for the camera. I cannot believe Knuckles hasn't been snapped up. I have had a few enquiries but everyone is so far away and the difficulty is planning a visit down to see him. He came to me last night as he does most evenings and asked to be picked up, then he snuggled into my chest and fell fast asleep, he loves his evening cuddles. Of course these babies are the epitomy of cat naps as they fall fast asleep for about 30 minutes and then they are up wrestling and running around like mad things. Very amusing to watch. All are now litter trained and eating both wet and dry food. They are going to be wormed tomorrow, as I'm not sure if they are all just incredibly fat (they are greedy little kittens) or need worming. Hopefully some lovely adoring family will come and visit and fall in love with Knuckles just like we have. Ok I have made a discovery this week and thankfully Traci and her family who are adopting Bugsy and Blousy have been very understanding. Blousy is a BOY!!!!!!!!!! so until Traci decides what she is going to do about names he will be called Mr Blousy. Sorry Traci!!!! The kittens have been wormed using Milbemax 17/3/09.
Week 8
We have bought the kittens a play tunnel and they absolutely love it. All the adult cats were chasing each other in and out of it last night. Sam is very naughty (sorry Deb) he won't leave his mother alone and still try's to suckle every chance he gets. Mr Blousy and Jude are totally done with the baby stuff of suckling off Mom. Bugsy will suckle if Sam has managed to pin his mother down and Knuckles is either attacking the adult cats, his brothers and sister or snuggling with one of us humans. They are a real joy to watch and play with. I can't believe I only have them with me for another 5 weeks. Happy Mothers Day to all of you Mums. (Vaccines next week). Knuckles has found a new family and will be going to live with Tamzin, George and Willow in Cornwall.
Week 9
The kittens had their first vaccines today. All of them were very brave, nobody made a fuss. They are all healthy, happy and typical naughty tonkinese kittens. We are going to miss them when they go to their new homes, but (ouch Sam just bit my arm) I am confident that they have found the right owners and will be very happy and well cared for in their new homes. But I have another 4 weeks to enjoy my babies, so I am going to cherish every minute with them. Knuckle's new name is Riley. I bought the cats/kittens a new toy yesterday and Riley, Blousy and Kali loved it. See Kaiya's kitten pics.
Week 10
These kittens are just so naughty. They have broken my Country Artist cats on my window sill, no one will admit to it but I know it was one of them. Quiet Sam is the naughtiest of all, followed closely by Jude, then Riley. Bugsy and Blousy have become the quieter kittens of the group although they have their moments trust me. They are all climbing up my curtains and I often find people stopped outside the house staring and laughing at their antics in the window. I think I will put off buying new curtains for a while, just like I have put off buying new stair carpet. Their mother Kaiya has finally learnt to say no and will not let them suckle anymore. Well its about time!!!!! But beside all that they are lovely, I have started putting their paperwork together and packing their little bags ready for them to go to their new homes in 3 weeks time.
Week 11
Happy Easter to everyone. I hope everyone had lots of easter eggs today. I have decided that I need a bigger lap. I cannot accomodate Kameko and 2-3 kittens at the same time. Everyone has become a lap cat which is great for the new owners but not for me when I have 8 cats that want to sit on my lap at the same time. They are all getting really big. Jude and Blousy are the biggest, followed closely by Sam. Riley is a little smaller and Bugsy is the smallest, but then she is the only girl. All the new owners are getting excited now as the big day is getting closer and closer. It has been a very long wait for everyone, but a wait that will be worth it in the end. Vaccinations on Friday.
Week 12
They had their final vaccinations on Friday and were all very brave (well Riley did cry a bit), but all of them are fine. They are getting so big now that they can't all fit in their basket at the same time, of course it doesn't help that Aunty Kali squeezes in there with them as well. My last week to enjoy them. I purchased a new cat climbing tree yesterday from the Bristol & District Show. They played with the box it came in for about an hour and ignored the tree. This will probably be the last entry for these babies now as they will go to their new homes next week. Thank you for checking in with us and hopefully we will have Siamese and Oriental babies in the near future.
Week 13
It is so quiet. All the babies have left for their new lives with their new families. We miss them already. We will post pics and updates as we get them.
